Armando Valdes-Velasquez (Perú): Strengthening conservation initiatives in the Madre de Dios watershed. 

Bio: Armando Valdes-Velasquez is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological and Physiological Sciences at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, and is also Scientific Director at the Center for Environmental Sustainability at the same university.  The Overbrook Fellowship will fund is efforts to strengthen conservation initiatives in the Madres de Dios Watershed in Peru.  Armando has a Doctorate in Zoology and Geography from University of Bonn, Germany.
