Voices of CERC

SEE-U Program

“The SEE-U program was amazing… I had a great time and I feel like I learned a lot of things I would not have otherwise been able to study. I was a little apprehensive at first, since I am very English-oriented and dislike all math and sciences, but I actually managed to do quite well. I'd recommend the program to anyone!”

Certificate Program

While investigating options for my independent project I was offered a job by the National Environmental Trust… I was then accepted to an MA program in Marine Affairs & Policy, and I am currently conducting a study of a Marine Reserve in southern Belize. The CERC certificate program [was] such a terrific experience for me—an incredible launching pad. It has literally changed my life!”

Middle School Initiative

“Today was the first time I ever went to the beach because my parents work all the time…”

“I learned how to do mapping and that I’m good at working in a group.”

Teacher Training Program

“It…is  great to expose students to material not normally explored in class (history of print, art, science). The immersion in a small subject gave students lots of chances to connect learning from day to day and do lots of hands-on experimenting”

“Getting students out of class and into the field is the best way for kids to learn and retain knowledge.”
